Welcome to Heard Elliott in Bideford, North Devon’s longest-established motor firm. We are a local, independent garage, serving Bideford, Northam, Westward Ho, Appledore and the surrounding area, and we’re the company that in 1956 supplied Landy.

Please Note:

Following the collapse of a roof that covered a portion of the garage premises, the premises remain inaccessible to our customers and members of the general public while essential remediation works are completed. However, the garage continues to operate (as it did throughout the COVID-19 pandemic). We offer MOT testing, servicing, and repairs as usual but by appointment only.

Please contact us by telephone to arrange EITHER a time to leave your vehicle in one of the bays outside the garage OR for us to collect your vehicle from your address. We do not charge for collection and redelivery within a 5-mile radius of Bideford. We have a limited number of free-of-charge courtesy cars that are available upon request.

Our preference is to take payment for completed work by card over the phone. We are therefore likely to ask you for payment when we call you to confirm arrangements for returning your car to you. Alternatively, we can accept payment in cash when we return your car to you. Car sales activity remains suspended until further notice.
